CHICAGO (January 21, 2010) – The Windy City will get a much-needed dose of vibrant color this winter when the doors of BrittenChicago open in a few short weeks. Britten’s expansion into Chicago answers the growing demand from Fortune 500 companies, agencies, graphic designers and other users of creative signage and commemorates the company’s 25th year in business.

Building on its rich history of providing high-quality products and services to the promoters of sporting events, Britten’s tapping of Chicago sports marketing veteran Matt Alexander to lead Britten’s foray into the nation’s third-largest market was a natural choice. Prior to joining the Britten team, Alexander served as President of Chicagoland Speedway where, for nine years, he was an enthusiastic Britten client.
It was Alexander’s talent for creative thinking and integrated approaches—whether co-hosting weekly sports talk shows for ESPN Radio and Comcast’s Chicago Tribune Live and becoming the voice of NASCAR or finagling comedian and Talladega Nights-star Will Ferrell to star in TV ads for the Speedway—that helped grow the track into a $30 million business and won Britten over. “Matt Alexander’s drive, creativity and passion for excellence are just what we need to help elevate BrittenChicago—and Britten—to the next level,” said Britten President/CEO Paul Britten.
As its new Managing Director, Alexander is charged with leading all management, sales and marketing efforts for BrittenChicago. The new flagship sales office and showroom—the first of its kind in the Britten portfolio—will feature a 3,000 sq. ft. fully-equipped, state-of-the-art facility located on Michigan Avenue in the city’s South Loop neighborhood.
